Footnotes
PERFECT SPEED hounded the pace on the outside early on, chased two wide never letting the leader get to far ahead throughout the turn, shifted to the three path looking the main threat straightening out for the lengthy stretch drive and continued to grind away outside u def a busy ride in the final furlong and got up on the last jump outside for the hard fought win. KATHERINE'S CUB assumed command shortly after the start, edged clear setting a moderate pace well in hand midway along the turn, had the two path holding on up top with a quarter mile from home, kept finding more staying on top with a furlong to go and dug in under urging late but was nailed by the winner outside right at the finish line. LIVELY UP had a good spot nestled on the rail tracking the pacesetter, continued to move well sitting behind the frontrunner taking the shortest way around the bend, shaved the corner in the mix inside with a quarter mile to go, could not keep up to the embattled lead pair by the furlong marker and finished up strong enough to be all alone at the wire capturing the show money. DOUBLE OR NOTHING had a sluggish start being at the rear outside in the early stages, co-trailed in the outside around the bend, swung out widest for clear run in the six path in upper stretch and ran on mildly for a minor placing in the end. WHYNOTMARIGOLD broke a step slow on the start, sat isolated in midfield down the backstretch and throughout the turn while going two wide, angled out to the five path turning for home but lacked a rally between runners in the drive to the wire. BERTHA was away alertly initially but then dropped back to be near the rear inside midway along the backstretch, saved all the ground sharing the tail end in tandem with an outside foe around the bend, moved out to the two path for the drive but failed to menace in the stretch running.
