Footnotes
SWIFTY KIM was away alertly initially, dropped back out of the early mix by the half, was going in the wrong while being coaxed for more at the five sixteenths pole, had a sharp response when called for more left-handed by the rider at the quarter pole, gathered more speed angling out for clear run at the top of the lane, drove past rivals one by one through the drive to get to the front seventy yards from home and won going away in impressive fashion. FLATTER EFFECT was fractious prior to the start, settled in the second flight on the outside down the backstretch, started to make a move splitting rivals two wide at the quarter pole, pounced three wide in upper stretch, seized command by the furlong pole but could not fend off the strong late surge by the winner outside in the very late going. HIGHLAND BREEZE was a joint last on the inside in the beginning, came under a busy ride at the quarter pole making little impression, swung out widest to the six-path finding her best stride late and while steadily urged on with a left-handed crop closed in getting up for the show award right at the finish line. ANOTHER SEATTLE broke a step slow on the start, was roused on the fence improving along the backside, sat on the inside of another in the second flight watching the lead duo at the half, crept up on the fence waiting to go at the quarter marker, hugged the rail in the mix at the top of the stretch but could only run on evenly inside in the final furlong just getting nabbed at the wire by the outside foe for the show award. LASSIES HALO emerged from the early scramble to be loose up top heading into the backstretch, slowed the pace down being nursed along on the engine through the turn, had the three path clinging onto the lead in upper stretch, had little left surrendering the lead by the eighth pole and wilted even further between foes in the final sixteenth. I KNEW I COULD travelled four deep on the outside tracking the loose leader early on, move in two wide prompting the issue outside midway through the turn, could not quicken when being pushed out three wide at the quarter pole, emptied out in the two path by upper stretch and was not persevered with in the final furlong. POINT OF FLATTERY had no early foot co-trailing on the outside entering the backstretch, was a sole last at the half mile marker, lagged well behind the group in the turn running and could not factor in the stretch drive. ALL HONEY broke sharp, bolted to the outside fence down the backside, was professionally eased up by the rider around the turn, galloped across the finish line and walked off.
