Footnotes
FIRE AND WINE was away alertly having the lead on the rail around the first turn, moved comfortably up top having a narrow advantage on the rail down the backside, was let out a notch disposing of the early speed rival by the half, opened up with ease quickening the tempo through the far turn, shifted to the two path in complete control turning for home and kept finding more on the lead in the final furlong to win going away for the wire to wire score. MILITARY TIME was two wide between horses tracking the lead duo around the first turn and throughout the backstretch, was roused for more with the winner slipping away at the five sixteenths pole, closed in posing the only opposition three wide at the head of the lane but could not find more chasing the winner home in earnest in the final furlong while besting the rest safely for the runners up share. BRACHETTO was a joint last on the outside in the early stages, trailed the field entering the backstretch, started to go by runners advancing inside at the half, rallied sharply on the fence through the far turn closing the gap at the quarter pole, angled out to the four path in mid-stretch and finished up willingly to be a clear third at the wire. TREVALLY had the fence sitting all alone down the backside rating kindly, started to commence a run three wide at the five sixteenths pole, angled inwards skimming the fence gathering more momentum at the top of the stretch and had good energy through the stretch on the rail to be a fringe player in the end. BULL BY THE HORNS was situated close to the back end two wide on the initial turn, could see the field at the five eights marker, rallied out of last making a run at the three furlong pole, moved to the five path in upper stretch and showed some late interest passing foes down the lane. TELEPORT (IRE) pressed the pace two wide on the outside early on, pulled at the rider still hounding the front runner outside down the back straightaway, gave up the chase on the winner when retreating at the quarter pole and wilted having little left in the three path in the final furlong. CHAOS AGENT broke a step slow to the outside leaving the gate, recovered to be three wide tracking the front pair on the first of two turns, travelled three deep still keeping aim on the front twosome down the backside, travelled three wide on the final bend but was scrubbed on for more unable to quicken with others who were making a rally at the quarter pole, shifted to the four path in upper stretch, did not switch leads through the drive and folded in the final eighth of a mile. WESTERN WARRIOR co-trailed on the inside with another, shifted to the outside heading into the backstretch, was relegated to the rear outside foes at the half, made little progression around the final bend and could not play a factor in the late running. FINAL SCORE had a good spot forwardly placed tucked in on the rail behind the pacesetter in the early going, had the inside position part of the second flight trio tracking the engaged pair down the backside, dropped back abruptly with something amiss by the three eighths pole and cantered home not being persevered down the stretch.
