Footnotes
PEJA DU assumed command from the onset, opened up loose on the lead setting an even split down the back straight, was moving well still going comfortably around the final bend and under a well rationed ride had just enough late to prevail by a diminishing margin at the finish line. TARANTO TITAN settled on the fence watching the top two runners in the beginning, closed the gap along the backside, was shuffled back losing momentum on the fence at the three eighths pole, regrouped to gather speed again four wide at the top of the stretch and was gaining with every stride down the lane but just missed with the final late surge at the wire. HANK OLLIE was content to sit just off the pacesetter, chased outside trying to close the gap on the frontrunner through the last turn, was asked for more turning for home but could not gain on the leader and finished up evenly down the lane to be a clear third at the finish. ELUSIVE KNIGHT travelled in midfield early on, edged closer through the far turn to be in range for a piece of the prize five wide turning for home, drifted inwards driving to the finish line making little gain on the leaders and settled on the fringes when crossing the finish. MEHLEK stalked near the rear ahead of one rival in the early stages, angled out six wide for the drive to the wire but lacked a finishing kick in the stretch running. LION KINGDOM was unhurried trailing into the first turn, still could see the field making little progression along the backside, saved ground throughout the final turn but could not get interested in the stretch running.
