Footnotes
VEERY was roused inside to dictate terms up top going into the first turn, was under a hard hold still unchallenged up front along the backside, continued moving comfortably alone on the lead in the far turn and when asked at the eighth pole had more to give for the frontrunning score. SWINGING MANDY tracked inside along the backstretch, was ridden to go after the leader at the quarter pole, loomed three wide at the top of the lane and chased the winner in vain to the finish line. DEVIL'S BIT stalked close to the back of the pack inside, was roused with a quarter mile to go having a clear lane on the fence turning for home and with a good late kick won the show battle in deep stretch. RETAIL THERAPIST was under a snug hold on the fence watching the lead three horses down the backside, moved in to be in with a chance five wide straightening out for home, dueled outside at the eighth pole for third money but had to settle on the fringes at the wire. MI CORAZON was tucked in on the fence in the early parts of the race, could see the field making little run on the far turn while in last, skimmed the fence at the top of the stretch and finished with good intent inside foes in the last eighth of a mile. BIJOU BABY settled outside in the second to last pairing, offered a mild run three wide at the five sixteenths pole, angled out six wide for the drive to the wire but could not reach contention in the stretch running. COZY CURLIN KITTEN settled at the rear in the beginning, began to pick up runners three wide at the quarter pole, swung out to the seven path for the stretch run and could not offer a finish when lugging in even under left-handed encouragement down the lane. MAGIC TOKEN travelled in midfield on the outside early on, could not go with others making a move when in the two path between foes with five sixteenths from home, angled five wide at the top of the lane but could not get involved finishing up in deep stretch. MISS SAN GABRIEL contently tracked outside in the early stages, started to close in when nudged midway around the last turn to be in the mix four wide straightening out for home, had little left for the drive and wilted at the furlong marker.
