PLAYMEA TUNE prompted the pace three deep down the backside, edged closer dueling three wide on the outside throughout the turn, angled out four wide posing the main threat straightening out for home and wore down both unyielding foes in deep stretch. ARMSTRONG vied between horses at the half mile marker, moved in to take command in the two path with challengers on either side with five sixteenths remaining, continued up front with a slim advantage between rivals at the top of the stretch, determinedly battled to the wire trying to hold off foes on each flank late but could not find more nearing the wire and gave way to the outside inner just before the finish line. SOUPED UP broke sharp leading this field down the back straight, was headed outside by a couple of rivals with three furlongs left to go, relinquished the front by midturn, fought back on the fence in upper stretch and finished up stubbornly inside the top two finishers not beaten all that much for the win in the end. GILT EDGE was unhurried to trail in the early stages, started to mount a rally shifting outside off rivals circling horses four wide at the quarter pole, found his best stride down the stretch and got up late to garner a minor share at the wire. LAST AMERICAN EXIT was hard held fighting the riders restrain when tracking behind the leaders down the backstretch, settled on the rail in midfield keeping pace through the turn, angled three wide turning for home but could only finish up one paced in the stretch. RAT PORTAGE stalked in the third flight inside foes along the backside, could not keep up to rivals on both sides midway around the bend, shifted inside to the rail in the stretch running but could not get involved. BORDER TOWN was away slowly to trail in the beginning, shifted outside three deep mid-backstretch having a stalking position while ahead of one runner, travelled three wide on the turn, came under a ride at the quarter pole making little headway, angled out in the four path for the drive and weakened by the furlong marker.
