Footnotes
HEMLO GOLD had an ideal set up watching the embattled front two into the first turn, continued a dream trip, neck bowed all alone waiting for the cue to go at the half, was coaxed moving into the lead three wide in upper stretch, opened up comfortably by the furlong marker and held safe for the win at the wire. ARASHI bumped the outside foe on the break, stalked in mid-division on the outside, took closer order in the two path at the half, had nowhere to go stuck behind a stopping rival on the rail at the quarter pole, found a seam three wide turning for home and closed in strongly in deep stretch but could not catch the winner who had it his own way. JO DADDY stalked on the fence near the rear, was shuffled back to last down the backstretch, started to reach for more ground two wide outside with five sixteenths from home, swooped horses five wide at the quarter pole and in the six path straightening out finished up willingly for the show money. WAR IN CHARGE bumped the inside foe at the start, co-trailed on the outside of that rival in the early going as well, advanced four deep outside runners down the backside, rallied four wide outside foes with three eighths remaining, fought on in the four path for the place share at the top of the lane, could not find more late and faded between horses in deep stretch for a minor share. LIL BIT GANGSTA settled close to the back ahead of a couple runners in the early stages, narrowed the margin three wide between runners down the back straight, kept pace three wide through the final turn and finished up evenly to the finish line. COLONEL MUSTARD hopped slightly on the start co-trailing on the inside, settled in last along the backside, travelled three to six wide making no impact around the final bend and could no be a presence for the stretch drive. FLAWLESS RULER sat alone in the third tier with the field strung out along the backside, dropped back on the fence with three furlongs to go unable to quicken with others, trailed with a quarter mile left to run and only passed the tiring early dueling leaders in the lane. STORMIN DAVE broke in at the start, battled inside up front for the early parts of the race, put away the other frontrunner midway around the far turn, was collared by the winner in upper stretch outside, offered no resistance and stopped on the fence with a sixteenth left to run. FANORE (IRE) was hustled outside dueling for the lead throughout, could not continue with the other co-leader backing way at the quarter pole, emptied out at the top of the lane and folded with a furlong remaining.
