Footnotes
ARTIE'S STORM was allowed to settle into stride having only one foe beaten in the early going, made a sharp move quickly improving on the fence at the half, waited on the rail getting a breather inside at the three furlong pole, moved in four wide at the top of the lane, was relentless in his pursuit down the stretch and got up in the shadow of the wire for the hard fought victory. WAR STRATEGY broke sharp dictating the pace loose on the lead along the backside, continued to roll along setting a rapid second split up top around the turn, shifted three wide bracing for the challenge by the winner in upper stretch and tenaciously gave it all to the wire inside but just missed the nod under a quick time when crossing the finish line. MASSETO (GB) broke out on the start, settled outside three deep keeping a close eye on the lead pair down the backstretch, closed in three wide around the turn to in the hunt six wide straightening out for home, could not match strides with the top two who had it to themselves at the eighth pole and was geared down at the wire for a non-threatening third. RONDURE was brushed outside to trail on the start, made little impact two wide outside a runner through the bend, angled to the seven path widest of rivals at the top of the stretch and passed tired foes in the final furlong for a minor placing in the end. OLD CHESTNUT travelled in midfield all alone down the backstretch, could not keep up to rivals making a move around the bend and finished up one paced on the fence down the stretch. MASON'S GAMBLE stalked near the rear in the beginning, could see the field while having runners on either side at the half, made little headway through the turn and failed to menace in the stretch running. OKIRO broke in at the start, chased the pace in the early stages, angled five wide between runners hanging on for a piece of the prize in upper stretch, could not find something in reserve for the drive and folded in the two path at the sixteenth pole.
