Footnotes
STIRLING CASTLE broke inwards but was quickly straightened out on the break, seized command from the onset under a hustling ride leaving the chute, was nudged along maintaining the front end around the turn with little pressure applied from the nearest outside rival, kept finding more in the two path when encouraged left handed in mid-stretch and held safe at the wire for the front end score. SOMEKINDA MISCHIEF had a good position, nestled on the rail moving comfortably in hand sitting behind the pacesetter, was poised taking the short way around d the turn measuring the leader, scraped paint having aim on the winner at the top of the stretch, could not get by on the inside through the land and settled for a clear second best at the wire. PADRAIG travelled in the middle of the pack between foes at the half, made little movement with runners on each side around the oval, shifted three wide for the stretch run, finally had clear path by the furlong pole and charged late to capture the show money. ALFRED BELLOWS travelled in midfield going four deep in the running down the backside, commenced an outside rally three wide in midturn to pose the main threat in the four path turning for home, was no match for the front pair by the furlong pole and stalled between horses in the last sixteenth, garnering only a minor placing in the end. TOTAL SENSATION was quite content to track the frontrunner outside along the back straight, chased, making no gain outside through the turn, was under a busy ride trying to go after the leader at the quarter pole, still was in the mix for a share three wide at the top of the lane between foes but evened out in the final furlong unable to be in contention at the wire. SPIKEPHIL hopped slightly on the break settling into stride off the fence trailing down the backstretch, moved in three wide around the turn closing the gap by the quarter pole, angled out four wide for the drive but failed to fire outside rivals in the late running. TANZANITE LILY stalked on the fence having one rival beaten along the backside, saved ground but made little headway inside foes throughout the turn and lacked a rally inside horses while on the fence in the stretch drive.
