Footnotes
DRYDEN broke just a half-step slowly, settled inside, saved ground on the turn, came out in upper- to mid-stretch three to four wide seeking room then darted back in a path or so to rally inside foes near the sixteenth pole, got up late to prevail. DADDY SEND MONEY was forwardly-positioned tracking inside, moved out near the quarter pole four wide, bid between runners taking a narrow lead nearing the furlong grounds, was outfinished. CELENTANO was bumped into a rival and squeezed back at the start, was a bit hard to control in behind and inside runners in the early stages, settled down for the turn racing near the back, moved out through the stretch angling seven or eight deep nearing the sixteenth pole and bumping a rival, had aim and was gaining steadily but too late. READY TO COLLECT was bumped at the break, stalked between foes into the turn, advanced four then five wide past the five-sixteenths, loomed a threat in upper stretch but ran evenly late. VICTORY TOWN settled about mid-pack inside but just off the rail, angled seven wide in upper stretch brushing a rival in the process, was carried out while bumped late and ran on thereafter. ROYAL QUALITY pursued from outside mid-pack, floated out from four to six wide on the turn while dropping back some, was bumped in upper stretch and carried out late, needed more to threaten. FIELD HOCKEY was hard to load, pressed the pace, took a narrow lead, faltered in the stretch. IF YOU INSIST bumped a rival at the start, raced toward the rear off the inside, failed to menace. CONTRIVANCE got away well and was put to urging straight away, set the pace shifting in, was pressure from outside, faltered and faded in the stretch.
