KING ROSSO was away alertly having the early lead, co-shared the front letting a rival engage inside midway on the first turn, settled into a good rhythm hounding the frontrunner outside three deep down the backside, moved in to force the issue on the far bend, tenaciously dueled outside down the whole stretch and just got the nose down at the right time at the wire for the hard fought win. HELLO STRANGER broke a step slow to trail in the beginning, advanced sharply under a tight hold on the rail around the first turn to sit behind the pacesetter down the backside, shot through when having an opening on the fence to seize control at the half, maintained a slim advantage up top around the final turn, was unyielding battling inside for the win down the entire stretch but was denied by a tight photo at the finish line, losing the nod. ROYAL PRESENCE travelled three wide outside two others watching the front pair early on, tracked in midfield, four deep outside foes down the back straight, remained in the second flight continuing three wide outside rivals on the last turn, angled to the five path at the top of the lane, was no match for the lead twosome who were a fight of their own at the furlong pole but determinedly dug in outside to edge away at the finish line capturing the show money. SWIFTLET edged up with the rail open to co-lead inside midway on the initial turn, narrowly dictated terms just off the fence while shadowed outside by the eventual winner down the backstretch, relinquished the front end letting a rival dart through inside at the half, dropped back slightly off the lead duo around the second turn, shifted out four wide in mix for a piece of the prize turning for home between runners, fought on inside for the third place share at the furlong marker but had to settle for a minor role in the end. LOVER BOY MO settled between rivals tracking the front duo heading into the first turn, had little movement down the back straight, closed the gap smartly on the far turn having the fence at the quarter pole, was in the hunt hugging the rail at the top of the stretch but could not continue with others outside and was outkicked in the final furlong. TORONTO CITY was antsy in the stall prior to the start, stalked outside another in the two path heading into the first turn, trailed the field along the backside, made little headway still at the rear around the final bend, angled to the four path for the drive but could not get involved in the late stages.
