ASK IN MY NAME was allowed to settle at the back finding his stride, started to mount a rally passing a challenger outside at the five sixteenths pole, had a full head of steam six wide at the top of the stretch, closed in sharply by the furlong pole, drove past taking control with a sixteenth still to run and won going away crossing the finish line. BLAZING BO cleared from the outer post to be loose on the lead on the rail midway down the backstretch, set an even pace while pressed outside on the turn, was headed outside three wide in upper stretch, dug in to fend of that challenger at the sixteenth pole but could not withstand the late charge by the winner which was further outside in deep stretch and determinedly lasted at the wire holding for the runners up share. BREAK THE SPELL stalked, having one beaten down the backside, was relegated to last when the eventual winner went by on the outside at the five sixteenths pole, skimmed the fence at the top of the lane, closed in having clear run on the rail through the stretch, surged inside to capture third and threatened late for the place share as well in the end. ECHO WITH LAUGHTER was content to sit outside just off the flank of the pacesetter in the beginning, took closer order by the three eighths pole, turned up the pressure forcing the issue outside with a quarter mile remaining, battled initially outside in upper stretch then gave way between horses with the winner charging by on the outside at the sixteenth pole and saved for a minor placing at the wire. SECRET STORM travelled in mid-pack on the outside early on, still had the outside teamed up in the second flight around the turn with another rival, swung out in the five path between foes having clear run in with a chance turning for home but could not offer a finish and yielded to others inside at the eighth pole. MANNIX (IRE) had the rail keeping a close eye on the lead pair down the backside, settled inside another while in the second pairing behind the engaged duo around the bend, was in the mix between horses two wide at the top of the stretch but had little for the late running and wilted at the furlong marker.
