SPEEDY PAL was the speed of the speed getting away up top down the backstretch, continued to roll along setting a quick pace while hounded outside throughout the turn, repelled the early speed foe to open up straightening out for home and coasted home with mild urging for the frontrunning score. MR. MARSHALL chased the frontrunner down the back straight, moved in on the turn to sit just outside off the flank of the pacesetter with a quarter mile to run, could not match strides with the winner who had something left at the top of the stretch and finished up well enough to hold on saving the place share at the wire. HEY LUIGI travelled in mid-division on the inside, was roused when in the third flight on the rail three furlongs out to take closer order on the front pair by the quarter pole, skimmed the fence to be in range of the leaders in early stretch and stubbornly fought on inside for the runners up share in the final furlong but just could not get by late. COMMANDER AT SEA had a slow start to trail early on, advanced smartly on the fence saving ground at the quarter pole picking up rivals, shifted out three wide with momentum at the top of the stretch and finished up mildly to win the battle for the minors. PRINCE SUSSEX watched the lead duo, tracking on the rail down the backstretch, offered a brief move separating from the field keeping an eye on the front two at the quarter pole, was in the hunt four wide for a placing in upper stretch, had little left late and stalled outside in the final furlong. IMPERIAL STAR settled close to the back of the pack with runners on either side, made no headway in the two path between horses on the turn, shifted out four wide at the top of the lane and could only finish up gradually between runners late fighting for a minor award. BUSTA GROOVE travelled three deep on the outside stalking ahead of only one rival along the backside, made no impression going three wide outside around the bend, angled out widest in the six path turning for home but could not play a role in the stretch running. SILVER PISTOL tracked the front two on the outside down the backside, could not rally three wide with others making a move at the quarter pole and emptied out five wide in upper stretch.
