CALUSA DONNIE settled early racing in the two to three path off the pace, moved nearer the rail saving ground on the far turn, came out four wide in upper stretch, unleashed a powerful rally to take command in mid-stretch and drive clear. SHAMATEUR set the pace from off the rail, was clear into the far turn, challenged and headed past the quarter pole, dug in to repel that foe but was caught by a different rival and only second best. ETHNIC SOUL was caught outside four to five wide in the early going, fanned nine wide turning for home, had the best stride late to be gaining but was not enough. PLAY THE DOTS moved forward inside up the backstretch, was guided out past the five-sixteenths, came out further to be six wide in mid-stretch, ran on evenly and needed more. PET SOUNDS was lightly bumped a few strides out of the gate, had forward position inside, switched outside the leader, advanced on that one on the far turn putting a short head in front briefly three to four wide past the quarter pole, could not sustain the effort and flattened out. THEFRONTIERSMAN was forwardly-positioned between runners early then steadily eased back off the pace, fanned seven wide, kicked on mildly. TONKA WAKAN bumped a rival lightly just after the start, was about three to four wide early, continued from off the inside and went evenly. SAINT TEMPLAR broke outwardly several paths, was encouraged forward outside and caught wide into the first turn racing four to five deep and chasing, fanned eight wide turning for home, failed to rally. SPARKLET saved ground on the first turn racing at the back, came out off the fence, was never near enough to threaten. AWESOME ENTRY raced off the rail and was not a factor.
