POP IDOL broke sharp having the lead at the start, was reined back rating kindly tracking the frontrunner midway along the backside, began to reel in the leader when coaxed three eighths from the wire, pounced three wide taking over control outside at the top of the lane and was kept to the task to comfortably hold safe for the victory. THREAD tracked the frontrunner outside down the back straight, could not quicken with the winner when asked right handed midway around the bend, angled out five wide at the top of the lane and found another gear late to take over the second spot inside the eighth pole but could not gain on the winner nearing the wire. CRYSTAL VISIONS stalked near the rear ahead of one, dropped back to last around the turn, angled out to the three path for the drive and finished with good late energy in the final furlong to get up nearing the wire for the show money. DAISY DUKE was unhurried at the rear down the backside, began to pick up rivals travelling on the inside three furlongs from the home, skimmed the rail moving in by upper stretch, rallied to the wire but just missed holding for third place at the finish line. CARLISLE BAY was off a step slow, sat alone in the third flight in the early going, started to reach for more ground when nudged for more on the rail midturn, angled out four wide to be in the mix between horses in upper stretch but stalled in the final furlong. MISS SAUGERTIES was eager from the outside post clearing to the lead on the rail by the nine sixteenths marker, set a rapid pace unchallenged around the bend, was collared outside by the winner straightening out for home offering no resistance, drifted out when urged left-handed with a furlong remaining and wilted in deep stretch.
