APOPHIS was pushed in on the start, took command eager up front in the beginning, slowed the pace down loose on the lead down the backside, increased the advantage running them off their feet around the last turn to have a commanding lead at the top of the stretch and held safe by a diminishing margin at the wire. WELLER GREEN was squeezed on the start, stalked near the rear on the inside, shifted out three wide at the quarter pole picking up the bit to be in the hunt for the secondary share in upper stretch, won the runners up share late and narrowed the margin on the winner considerably at the finish line. KING ROSSO settled close to the back on the outside, was the first to make a move on the loose frontrunner circling foes four wide with three furlongs from home, posed the main threat chasing the winner at the top of the stretch, could not find more in the final furlong and faded late losing the place share in the final seventy yards. BEYOND ADVERSITY was tucked in on the rail behind the leader, stalked in the third flight on the fence down the back straight, was stuck behind a tiring rival with five sixteenths to go, bobbled for a step just inside the quarter pole when shifting out to the four path at the top of the lane and finished up with intent to settle on the fringes in the end. THOR'S CAUSE travelled in the two path with runners on either side keeping an eye on the lone speed leader in the first turn, rated in mid-pack along the backside, could not keep up with others midway around the far turn and finished up mildly in a spread-out field down the stretch. FROGINAPOND was unhurried trailing in the early stages, swung out to the four path for the stretch drive and passed weary foes down the lane. POLITICAL WARFARE was forced in on the break, travelled three wide between horses watching the leader in the initial bend, settled in midfield three deep along the backside, edged closer in the two path on the far turn to duel for a minor placing turning for home, could not go on late and tired by the furlong marker. SPRUNG LOOSE broke in at the start, tracked four wide around the first turn, chased the pacesetter along the backstretch, had nothing more to offer inside foes at the five sixteenths marker and folded on the fence in upper stretch.
