COMPTON broke outwardly, gained forward position into the first turn, was caught three to four wide, prompted the leader a couple times early up the backstretch, settled off that one to stalk the remainder of the way up the straight and into the far turn, began to edge nearer at the quarter pole, struck the lead at the three-sixteenths, dug in under steady handling and held off a late charging rival. OUT N OUT DISGRACE settled off the pace and off the inside in the two to three path, moved out up the backstretch brushing lightly with a rival, moved out further fanning six wide turning for home, gained late but missed. STARVIN prompted the early pace then was wrangled back at the three-quarter to stalk in behind the leaders racing two to three deep, chased evenly in the stretch and needed more. ROYAL ENTRY angled in early, saved ground on both turns racing at the rear, ran on in the stretch to improve. SHINIGAMI quickly moved to the lead, set the pace inside facing pressure from outside foes, edged clear up the backstretch, was overtaken at the top of the lane, gave way near the eighth pole. I'MANISLANDBOY tracked from inside, was put to urging three furlongs out, angled five wide leaving the far turn, was within range in upper stretch but had no extra. AUDAX MINOR chased mostly three to four wide, was ridden along by the three-eighths, steadied when in tight between foes coming to the quarter pole, weakened thereafter. SOUPER STRIDER was outside at the back, had some light brushing with a rival late up the backstretch, went four to five deep on the far turn, altered outside a rival past the quarter pole, failed to make a bid.
