Footnotes
LOOSE WIRE settled outside at the rear, advanced on the far turn four to six wide coming into upper stretch with aim on the leaders, lugged in and bumped a foe nearing the sixteenth while taking command, edged past late. LAST DAWN stalked reasonably close racing mostly three to four wide through both turns, was set down for the drive angling out a path at the top of the stretch, bid between runners about the eighth pole, was bumped into a rival soon after and settled for second best. CLASSIC MO TOWN was unhurried at the back racing off the rail, fanned seven wide into upper stretch, gained steadily but needed more. J P HELLISH pursued from outside three to four wide, drew closer turning for home taking a narrow lead at the eighth pole, was bumped near the sixteenth pole and weakened. JUNIPERO SERRA was bumped into a rival at the start, settled well back inside, bided time two deep on the far turn and had to wait for room nearing the quarter pole, followed a runner then rallied strongly in upper stretch before evening out late. SHIRL'S SPEIGHT shifted in early, saved ground racing near mid-pack along the rail, was asked for run nearing the quarter pole having moved out seeking room, came out a bit wider in the drive and ran on but needed more. MAAKWA bumped a rival at the start, sped clear to set the pace on or just off the rail, weakened in the stretch. VOLCANIC was well-placed outside mid-pack racing mostly four wide, dropped back on the far turn, came out in upper stretch and ran on evenly. GRANDSON dropped back between runners on the far turn nearly to last, swung nine wide into upper stretch, was never near enough to threaten. SIMCOE was bumped at the start, forwardly-positioned inside tracking just off the leaders early, was taken back and switched out, failed to rally. ROMEO YANKEE was bumped into a rival at the start, chased two wide moving nearer the rail on the far turn, came up empty.
