Footnotes
VICTORIA'S CHIEF broke out at the start, travelled in the five path between foes heading into the first of two turns, stalked three deep close to the back down the backstretch, rallied five wide around the last turn circling rivals at the quarter pole, was running on end in the six path down the stretch and got up in the last few jumps for the stretch running victory. JACK THE CAT was squeezed on the break to co-trail on the inside, started to mount a rally between foes two wide with a quarter mile from home, gathered speed widest in the eight-path straightening out for the drive, stayed on the wrong lead to the wire and got up late to be second best. YORKVILLE tracked on the outside in the second flight, edged closer three wide through the far turn, was encouraged left-handed having his sights set on the leaders at the quarter pole, loomed boldly five wide at the top of the stretch, drifted outside dueling for the lead at the sixteenth pole and faded late to settle for third in the end. JAY BIRD settled into stride ahead of only a couple of rivals after the start, narrowed the margin advancing on the fence down the backside by the half, started to rally weaving between horses picking up the bit with five sixteenths from home, shifted four wide quite in the thick of things at the top of the lane, lacked running room losing its lane at the eighth pole, angled outside once more at the sixteenth pole surging late, again was stymied having to be checked in tight quarters in deep stretch and could not recover in time to threaten at the finish. MIGHT BEE SPEEDY pressed just outside in the beginning, hounded the frontrunner outside down the backstretch, closed in around the final turn to have a short-lived lead in the three path between horses in mid-stretch, could not continue on in the late stages and yielded inside runners at the seventy-yard pole. SNOOKERED travelled six wide outside rivals going into the first bend, settled in midfield three deep on the outside along the backside, offered a brief rally four wide at the three eighths marker and finished up one paced in the five path through the stretch. DEVELOPING THE WAY broke in, bumping the inside foe on the start, co-trailed on the outside in the early stages, commenced a run three wide at the quarter pole, shifted out to the six path in upper stretch but could not get into contention running down the lane. BET N WIN hopped slightly tossing its head on the break, stalked near the rear inside foes in the beginning, made little headway down the back straight, angled three wide for the stretch run but could not factor in the drive to the wire. ROOKIE RADAR was coaxed at the start taking this field into the first turn up top, continued on the lead setting an even tempo along the wind aided backside, increased the advantage briefly with five sixteenths from home, was then collared outside at the top of the stretch, had little left for the drive and folded on the fence at the sixteenth pole. CANTUCCI travelled on the rail in midfield, shifted out to the two path closing in along the backstretch have a close eye of the lead two by the half, was scrubbed on but was going in reverse at the quarter pole and faltered on the fence by the furlong marker. DREAM ON BABY sat just behind the pacesetter after the start, was checked mildly on the fence midway around the first turn, had a good position nestled on the rail behind the lead duo along the backside, regressed through the field on the rail in the final bend to be at the rear turning for home and could not play a role in the stretch drive.
