MAXIMUM FIFTY had an easy lead on the fence controlling the pace down the backside, rolled along getting a slower split on the turn with no pressure applied from challengers, spurted clear when called upon at the top of the lane, stayed on the incorrect lead on the rail down the lane with a diminishing advantage and just lasted by a flared nostril inside at the wire in a very tight finish. LUZ DE LA LUNA had a staking role ahead of only one runner down the back straight, ranged up three wide outside horses midway around the bend, came with a strong late charge in the three path down the stretch, surged at the wire outside giving it her all but was denied in a close photo at the finish line. MAY MAY STRONG sat at the back of the pack in the beginning, was nudged along for more on the bend, started to make a rally on the fence at the quarter pole, scraped paint improving position in upper stretch and finished up willingly for third money but could not threaten the top pair in the late stages. GOING LUCKY was roused initially forcing the pace early on, took back a touch settling onto a good rhythm behind the leader at the half, inched up seeming to measure the frontrunner throughout the turn, appeared to have aim three wide at the top of the lane for a moment, had no kick in upper stretch while the winner was kicking on and faded between foes at the furlong pole garnering a minor placing at the finish line. CANADIANSWEETHEART was in mid-division having the fence along the backside, regressed on the turn while in the two path being passed on both sides leaving the quarter pole and could not figure in the late stretch running.
