MISS PIERRE was in a bit tight after the break, settled toward the rear off the inside, shifted eight wide turning for home beginning to advance, drifted in through upper stretch with aim on the leader, struck the lead outside the sixteenth pole and edged by late. RUTHLESS ACTION chased in behind the leaders off the inside, moved outside four wide coming to the top of the stretch, took a narrow lead, was carried in a bit late, kept on but was only second best. CUP OF KINDNESS was bumped at the break, reserved off the pace outside till the top of the stretch while angling out, came out further to be ten deep in upper stretch, finished best to be gaining late outside. TABEI was mid-pack near the eventual winner, advanced with that one on the turn shifting five wide into upper stretch, rallied between foes by mid-stretch, was forced in by the drifting winner, steadied slightly near the seventy yard marker and continued to weaken some thereafter. LA BELVA bumped with a foe at the start, was unhurried well back, came out nine wide in the stretch, kept on but needed more. FANNY M stalked the leaders, moved out five wide past the quarter pole, contended from the three-sixteenths till mid-stretch then flattened out. MARYLAND SPIRIT exchanged a bump at the start, settled toward the back off the inside, kept on in the stretch. MOTOWN FUNK chased mid-pack, came out off the rail on the turn, failed to rally. MISS MITOLE switched out to advance three to four wide coming past the quarter pole, bid at the top of the stretch briefly but readily flattened out. BETTY GIZMO broke outwardly bumping a rival, pressed the pace from inside, came up empty. GRETNA GREEN set the pace outside, opened up on the turn, faltered and faded. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF TABEI AGAINST MISS PIERRE ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AS WELL AS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AND RESULTS TO STAND AS IS.
