DARK SCREEN was content on the rail sitting just behind the frontrunner, became headstrong having to be hard held at the seven sixteenths pole, settled into stride again having a good spot on the rail keeping close tabs on the contesting pair around the oval, found a seam in the two path at the top of the stretch, burst through runners to take control leaving the furlong marker and drew away at the wire for the win. FORESTER'S FORTUNE co-trailed outside rivals travelling three deep early on, made a good rally circling around horses four wide through the bend, was full of run reaching for more ground in the five path in the drive to the wire, could not get to the winner late but finished up strongly nonetheless and captured the secondary share just before the finish line outside. ARTEMUS CITYLIMITS travelled three deep tracking the leader down the backstretch, moved in to prompt the issue outside around the bend, was in the hunt in the three path straightening out for the drive, could not quicken with the winner to his inside at the furlong pole and just missed holding for the runners up share inside nearing the wire. ONE TRUE GENTLEMAN bobbled on the break, sat between rivals part of the rear trio at the half, saved ground edging up inside horses through the turn, shifted out four wide with a chance in upper stretch and finished up one paced down the stretch for a minor placing in the end. SILENT RESERVE was hard ridden, intent on getting the lead down the backside, maintained a narrow advantage on the fence while pressed outside throughout the turn, had the rail just holding on up top in upper stretch, relinquished the lead to the winner outside at the furlong pole and could not find more in deep stretch, fading in the final seventy yards. SHAKOO MAKOO watched the frontrunner between horses along the backstretch, still tracked the leader with rivals on each side making little headway in midturn, angled out to the four path at the top of the lane, had little for the stretch run and flattened out at the furlong marker. YODDHA was at the back of the pack with runners on either side down the back straight, made no progression on the turn seeing the field and failed to menace, unable to get involved in the stretch running. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate times.
