Footnotes
SACCHARINE travelled inside runners in mid-pack, ranged up midway around the far turn to loom boldly four wide in upper stretch and fought on to edge clear for the win in deep stretch. WHY EM SEA AY had a good spot alone watching the front two horses, moved in two wide at the quarter pole, poked his head in front between rivals with a furlong left to go but could not fend off the winner in the last sixteenth of a mile. THOR'S CAUSE stalked near the rear outside foes, took closer order but could not improve position around the far turn, was in with a chance sitting just behind the embattled leaders in early stretch four wide, dug in late and outdueled a few challengers for the show money at the finish line. STOKE THE FIRE travelled in mid-pack three wide on the first of two turns, regressed losing position along the backside, started to commence a run with a quarter mile remaining, was floated out widest in the seven path at the top of the lane and was gaining on rivals late just missing for the third place share in the end. BIG SHOOTER co-trailed on the last, stalking in last seeing the field down the backside, mounted a rally between rivals four wide at the quarter pole, shifted out a touch to be in the six path for the stretch run and finished up mildly to the wire. PARADISE PERFECT was headstrong loose on the lead into the first turn, continued to roll along unopposed down the back straight, still played catch me if you can having the advantage around the far turn, was finally collared at the eighth pole by outside foes and wilted in the final seventy yards losing some placings late. SPRUNG LOOSE co-trailed on the inside in the beginning, improved mildly on the fence by the half, took closer order on the turn, lacked running room behind a wall of horses for a moment at the quarter pole, found a seam in the two path at the top of the lane but could not offer a finishing kick in the final furlong. WELLER GREEN tracked outside in midfield, was scrubbed on for more trying to match strides with the eventual winner to his inside at the three eighths pole, closed in to be in range for a piece of the prize five wide turning for home but flattened out at the furlong marker. BARONS BLITZ rated kindly sitting behind the lone speed in the early stages, was roused at the quarter pole trying to reel in the frontrunner but was being passed by many foes outside who were commencing a run, emptied out in upper stretch and galloped across the finish line.
