Footnotes
BLACKDIAMOND DINNY was sent to the lead soon after the start, set the pace shifting in near but just off the rail and in the clear, was chased by a rival turning into upper stretch, was kept to the task and held that foe while drifting out a bit in deep stretch. HOLIDAY IN JAIL broke outwardly, moved forward three wide stalking off the lead of the eventual winner, drew a bit closer leaving the far turn and put to urging, could make no headway but kept on to be second best. MRS. HOT SHOT settled off the pace inside, shifted out while advancing past the five-sixteenths racing four to five wide to the top of the stretch, couldn't quite reach the top pair but was clearly best of the rest. HYPER AWAKENING was mostly five wide throughout racing outside foes mid-pack, kept on in the stretch to hold the minor award but was no late threat to the top trio. WILD QUEENIE settled outside at the back, swung seven to eight wide for the drive, improved position outside. LADIES RUM saved ground inside about mid-division, was put to urging three furlongs out, came off the rail nearing the quarter pole and was guided out a few paths further in the stretch, ran on but was not a threat. HIGH TREASON settled off the pace inside, swung five wide for the drive, was in tight between runners near the wire. POWAQA shifted in early, saved ground through both turns, was not a threat. LAUGHING OUT LOUD broke a bit awkwardly and was in a bit tight heading to the first turn, pursued the leaders mid-pack four wide, angled out at the top of the stretch, was not a threat. HAYEK switched out entering the first turn, stalked the winner from in behind, dropped back along the rail on the far turn and faded.
