EL ALACRAN proved to be the quickest out of the gate taking the lead after a couple of,e of jumps out of the gate, opened up on the field at the three furlong po,e well in hand, moved comfortably unchallenged on the turn, had company outside at the top of the lane, quickly put away that rival when roused for more at the furlong pole and was kept to the task late to prevail for the gate to wire score under a well rationed out ride. HIGHLAND LIFE broke sharpest leaving the gate, was then allowed to find his stride sharing the rear outside at the half mi,e mile, ranged up steadily around horses three wide throughout the turn, swung out widest gathering more momentum six wide turning for home andwasfullofrun late, closing in smartly in deep stretch but just missed getting to the winner at the wire. SHAKOO MAKOO had a good spot on the rail sitting behind the leader down the back straight, kept pace while just off the fence keeping a close eye on the top pair on the turn, moved out to the four path in with a chance for a piece of the prize between horses in upper stretch and ran on mildly, winning the battle to be a non-threatening third at the finish line. DESIGNATED HITTER co-trailed on the inside of another with a half mile remaining, made little movement on the fence around the bend, shifted out a touch two wide for the drive to the finish line and found his best stride late dueling for the show award but settling for a minor role inside in the end. LOVE YOU LIPPY was content to track the pacesetter on the outside early on, started to chip away at the frontrunner closing in by the quarter pole, made a brief bid three wide on the outside at the top of the stretch, was no match for the winner when being repelled by the furlong marker and was empty in deep stretch, wilting between horses in the two path at the sixteenth pole. DILWAALA settled in the middle of the pack in the two path along the backside, was under a ride but could not keep up to rivals by the three eighths pole, retreated further through the turn and could not factor in the drive, galloping home on the rail.
